With a pad against pathogens

In the December 2019 Medical News article " A pillow against pathogens. Hospital staff shares experiences ", we examined the experience of our partners so far with SleepAngel medical products:

SleepAngel Product Manager Aile Pilberg has met with representatives of many Estonian hospitals and nursing homes. While procurement costs are often the basis for decision-making, practical users – both patients and caretakers – quickly see the life-cycle benefits of an innovative product.

“Filter pillows make it much easier to maintain hospital hygiene,” said Pilberg. “Compared to conventional sleeping products, SleepAngel products can be disinfected on site and have a significantly longer lifespan (2-year warranty). There are also no washing and transportation costs, and no need for replacement products that would normally be in the laundry.”

The products have been in use in the Estonian medical and care sector since 2015. The introduction of the new technology has also taken longer because the current procedural rules related to the care of soft surfaces need to be changed. “The current procedural rules stipulate that the pillow must be sent to the laundry after each patient use, but this is not necessary with the new product. Products with PneumaPure filter technology can be disinfected on site and only the pillows and bed sheets need to be washed,” said Pilberg.

The SleepAngel product range includes bed fillings with patented filter technology that remain clean inside during use and can be disinfected on site. The use of the technology reduces hospitals' time, money and environmental impact.
